"here we are once again"
The tightly wound post punk Unravel by Prague based A Dull Set ( the musical project of UK's Sam and Hayden) is a rather cagey and dangerous sounding late 80's toned affair with synth waves of Brit punk and New Wave affections. Even the vox have that stoic 80's glare bathed in art punk low growls, pristine and purely wrought growls but growls just the same. The staccato guitar and super active bass lines feel so proto punk and conjure up small dark clubs with the walls and ceilings painted black.
Unravel is from A Dull Set's "What Kind of Spectacle" EP

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
A Dull Set are Prague-based duo Sam and Hayden, born either side of the UK's North/South divide. Drawing influence from early-80s British New Wave and Post-Punk, the fast tempo of the reverb-laced electronic drums pave the way for short and snappy, melodic and sardonic, songs - delivered in the deep dulcet tones of the men in question.
Dave Allen's iconic bass riffs meet Adrian Borland's unique guitar creations, as described by one blog:
''It has connections to almost everything that came up in the turn of the late 70's and early 80's, from Gang of Four and The Cure, to A Certain Ratio to Bauhaus. Despite sounding nostalgic, A Dull Set know exactly in which direction they are going.''
