"I'm a decent friend at best"
The hard bouncy post punky experimental pop track Ping Pong by Harry The Nightgown and from their self titled debut album dropping on August 7th, digitally and on vinyl via Wiggle World (the band's label) as well as on cassette via Topshelf Records, is wonderfully divergent, mixing so many flavors: one part cowpunk, one part casio punk, one part experimental indie, two parts art punk and 4 parts whimsy.
Harry the Nightgown is the smart unruly brain child of Spencer Harting and Sami Perez (bassist for Cherry Glazerr & The Shes) who met while playing shows in San Francisco and who are now both engineers at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone Studios.
You can pre-order on their Bandcamp page. Awesome.

The creative union of Spencer Harting and Sami Perez (bassist for Cherry Glazerr & The Shes), they met playing shows in San Francisco, and now are both engineers at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone Studios.
The songs that comprise their debut LP were written while recording, songs shapeshifting and transforming right up until the tape stopped spinning. The end result is an exhilarating journey of pop experiments, at times as wild as Dirty Projectors or Deerhoof. Lead single "Ping Pong" is the album's most straightforward song, a playful, driving track that recalls Parquet Courts.
The album as a whole is truly unique, unfettered creativity and experimentation from some of the Bay Area/LA's brightest musical minds. Whole thing is out on August 7th, digitally and on vinyl via Wiggle World (the bands label) and on cassette via Topshelf Records.
