Daysormay are three young lads that have been making music since they were 6 graders (8 years ago) in Vernon, British Columbia (Can). It is absolutely stunning and a blessing to know, at such an early age, what drives you passionately. That doesn't happen for the average among us. Over these 8 years, these boys to became brilliant songwriters, performers, producers, wunderkinds and local inspirations.
Now 20 years old and residing in Vancouver, they have already released a debut EP (2016 "Talk Peace to A Wolf"), the 2018 Role Model and the highly successful Role Model version featuring Tess. Their name daysormay is the phonetic of the French "désormais" meaning "from now on" and their latest offering Running (from their upcoming EP) starts off like a small glow. When the vox stand up in such a lush way with pop forward techniques and then the drum beat stomps down with the bass line it is clear those years of repeated production failures and successes have paid off in a big way. The pop indie wash which comes in on layer after layer feels like a warehouse of sounds and feels heavenly. I especially love the drum sound and that constant lips to ears aesthetic that makes Running so powerfully pop smart and pop intimate.

Eight years ago, three six-graders ignored all the other trappings of ascendant teenagers and dedicated themselves fully and feverishly to making music. Growing up in the serene town of Vernon, BC, daysormay not only mastered their songwriting and playing skills, but they also became production wunderkinds. Now 20 years old, in Vancouver, with a full album and EP release already in their arsenal, the members of daysormay (the English phonetic of the French “désormais” meaning “from now on”) have the wind at their backs with no intentions of slowing down.
With influences like Phoenix, Glass Animals and Portugal the Man., singer Aidan Andrews and twin brothers Carson and Nolan Bassett are carving out a unique space in modern alternative music and they have the online fanship to show it. It was a member of that dedicated following that tweeted at rising indie-pop artist Tessa Violet, and suggested daysormay as openers for her 2019 tour. After doing some quick online research about the band, Tessa was instantly hooked on the music, specifically their song “Role Model.” She brought daysormay out on the road and was so blown away that she subsequently introduced them to her team at T∆G Music, where Tessa herself holds a creative development position.
Full circle moment, daysormay will release their new EP through T∆G Music’s label, starting with “Role Model (ft. Tessa Violet)” this spring. The collaboration gives way to a high energy jam that is undeniably infectious. Insight into the whole EP, Role Model is a clear indication of how the band are unsatisfied to churn out simple three-minute rock standards. Audiences will hear how the band has continued to challenge their craft by incorporating pulsing drums, enchanting synths & guitars, unforgettable melodies and sharp-witted lyrics.
daysormay attack each new live show with a relentless energy of a band on the verge. Their history of stunning audiences is extensive, from at home in Canada, to headline shows in Europe, The Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, The Great Escape in England, Bumbershoot in Seattle and support slots on stages with Cold War Kids, Tessa Violet, Peach Pit, Walk Off The Earth and Arkells.
