There is so much stellar music coming out of Melbourne, Australia including that of singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Lewis Coleman who just signed with legendary Australian label Ivy League (Rolling Blackouts CF, A. Swazye & the Ghosts, Hatchie). The track Good Side, from his upcoming debut album "Method of Places", due to drop in early November (2020) is a floating bit of indie pop / dream pop with psychedelic affections. Coleman's vocal aesthetic is the icing on the cake feeling incredibly endearing. His melodies that bounce and sustain in lovely ways rides on guitar lines building patterns for the forward pushing drums, ultra vivid synths and swaying bass lines. Within Good Side, Coleman pulls bits of torn whimsy and psyche dreams down for us all to escape in. Beautiful stuff.

Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist Lewis Coleman is the latest signing to legendary Australian label Ivy League (Rolling Blackouts CF, A. Swazye & the Ghosts, Hatchie) and the track will be released in conjunction with the news of his debut album.
Lewis is a big part of Melbourne's tight knit music community. He used to front The Cactus Channel, who were supported by Hypebeast, KCRW, Red Bull and a bunch of cool Aussie outlets, but this is his debut solo project. He's written, recorded and produced everything himself. Similar artists would be Midlake, Phosphorescent, Thom Yorke, that kind of vibe.
His debut album 'Method of Places' (due for release early Nov) effortlessly straddles the worlds of indie rock, electronica, jazz and soul, bristling with big ideas and artfully arranged songs that are both abstract and melodic. It's experimental but accessible, built upon layers of moody instrumentation and addictive hooks.
