"grab yourself a pitchfork and stomp your feet"
Basingstoke (UK) punk outfit, Pussycat and The Dirty Johnsons have been thinking about the "Karens" in our society before they were referred to as such. Their track "Knee Jerk" is a buzz-saw old school punk rock condemnation of racially motivated busybodyness informed by a real event. The blistering heavy guitars destroy as Pussycat's croons in both smooth and caustic ways as the song vaselates between a heavy 50's rock and roll jag and pure punk.
"I wrote this song a couple of years ago after hearing about that white woman who called the police on a black family minding their own business having a barbeque, and then it grew into a song that was also about reactionary people on social media. Since then the rise of the ‘Karen’ has escalated and people in general seem to have a ridiculous sense of entitlement and violence in the ‘opinions’ they post online."
"Knee Jerk" is from the band's full length "Beast".
