"Old Hotel" by singer-songwriter, artist Angel Moth (Tashi, Tashi Alexander aka Alexander Gabriel) feels like a scratchy black and white waltz. The sandpaper shuffle, use of accordion, upright bass, and piano like sleepy honkytonk feels so nostalgic as Gabriel's pure vocal performance croons tenderly. The song is from the EP "Above The Noise" released late in 2020. This song (like the others on the EP) transports you away from the modern brain fry acquired from looking at your phone way too much.

The creation of Angel Moth arrived via a long process of Tashi's search to give birth to his most authentic and expansive musical identity. As a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Tashi has been writing and performing since he was six. Led by an internal process of self-inquiry and dialogue between the conscious and subconscious, he explores through the mediums of songwriting and music as well as poetry and visual art. After playing in various musical projects, Tashi self-produced and recorded his debut album titled Reflections In the Dragon’s Eye under his given name Alexander Gabriel. He then began recording his second album Above The Noise with acclaimed producer and performer Walter Strauss and released it under the project name of Angel Moth. This album has an all-star lineup of musicians including: MaMuse, jazz bassist Sam Bevan, virtuoso Andy Rinehart, renowned Drummer Colin Douglas and Pedal Steel player Robert Powell. Angel Moth is both an individual and collaborative project rooted in the union of written song and the magic that comes from unfiltered, spontaneous expression.
The name Angel Moth represents the aspects of the Divine inherent in all things and the more subtle beauty found in the misunderstood aspects of the mundane. Angel Moth is a flavor that is both new and ancient and seeks to synchronize the mystical, mysterious and the relatable of human nature. From emotional to abstract, fairytale to personal narrative; poetic ballads to daring explosions of metaphor, Angle Moth is about weaving the unhinged irony of existing in a multidimensional world.
