Vancouver’s Kylie V has just released their debut album entitled “Big Blue,” along with the title track, a bold sound paired with dreamy vocals and affecting lyricism. The song is about getting the urge to walk into the ocean as a way of escaping your problems, and Kylie V’s vocal style powerfully carries the poetic lyrics through over the cinematic and strong instrumentation. Kylie V is wise beyond their years at 17, and this album release should be a strong start to a promising artistic career. Kylie V sings and plays guitar on this album that they also wrote, with Cristian Hobson-Dimas on bass, Beni Hobson-Dimas on drums and Harley Small on synth. Small of Peach Pit also mixed and produced “Big Blue.” Kylie V’s sound is captivating and refreshing, and we’re excited to see what comes next from them.
