[THESSENCE]
In 2014 I was 14 and my family decided to move to Nicaragua pretty randomly actually. Since we had no family there or any real reason to move, it was an impulsive decision that I had no control of, after moving it was fun for a while but the fun didn't last, I felt so isolated and alone since my friends were back in Miami and I couldn't speak Spanish so well on top of being shy it was mad difficult to not feel alone. After about 7 months I finally mustered up the courage to make friends with my neighbors, we would play soccer from 7 AM to 10 pm and it was fun, but at the same time, we were going broke and hungry since we only had a retirement check to live off of, So as a family we decided to move back to Miami and instantly I thought this lingering feeling of loneliness would dissipate. I was wrong, when I came back I felt even further away from my friends. My best friend got me into skateboarding and the freedom I felt while on that 7 plywood was phenomenal it was enough to quiet the negative thoughts in my head. So I would skate every day and this song is a sonic representation of those feelings I felt during the period of me leaving and coming back to Miami, it's a little sad, a little hopeful, and it's a lot of me. - Arg0ta
