"I would like to figure out a way for me to see the day..."
Vacation Forever's latest "You Gotta Hustle" is an indie rock song with a pop sheen in that sort of Peter, Bjorn and John vox populi-esque way, simple and sweet but with grit too. Zacharias Zachrisson knows how to get to the essence of whatever track he is laying down. Get to the bones before growing flesh and muscle on it. At the core of this well produced track are messages of hope and comfort. More and more, as millions of people are striving to survive in a global economy that seems to put large masses of people second and corporations (and ultimately the 1 or 2 percent of the super rich) first, the side hustle looms large. In fact, if there is one thing that should be talk in every elementary school across the world is the characteristic of hustling. Absorbing the idea of urgency, of recognizing and taking opportunities, of being quick on your feet, of diversifying your skill set and having the ability to shape shift at any given moment. It is what makes our dreams come true in the end, especially now. Gone are the cushy jobs with the 401K, great health insurance and a gold watch at the end.
- "Sometimes I find myself completely isolated from reality without money, tired of hustling, tired of everyday life. I wanted this song to reflect that feeling, but instead it became kind of a twelve-step program made up of a pop song with 60s drums" -
"Step by Step, day by day, learn to take it easy man, the shit takes time, cuz you gotta hustle"
"You Gotta Hustle to get what you want... It's not easy but I try my best"
Words to live by, if you ask me. Words of comfort and zeal during heavy times. Words to lighten up our spirit while hitting the pavement online or off.

Vacation Forever deals in short, direct, almost-pop songs, but pop songs that aren’t afraid to stray into messy territory, taking influence from garage rock, psychedelia, anything that catches Zacharias Zachrisson’s attention. On his upcoming debut album, the songwriting is his strongest yet. Every song has the melodies to pull you in on first listen, and a chorus that makes it easy to love. The production, expertly executed by Grammy-nominated Patrik Berger (Lana del Rey, Robyn, Icona Pop), and co-produced by multiple Grammy winner Jeff Bhasker, pulls those simple, direct songs and transforms them into something completely new. Lyrically, it’s deeply personal and powerful, and that’s what makes it work – intense both emotional and creatively.
