Violet Silhouette's shiny shirts might be the only indication that they are based in West Palm, Beach Florida. There sound as expressed in the post punk / gothic wave track, "There's No Way Out", is decidedly dark and brooding and (for me) pulling deep sonic cues from late 70's / 80's goth rock / dark punk bands like Christian Death or Bauhaus but with certain melodic refinements and pretty synth and guitar adornments of less dark artists like Echo and the Bunnymen, the Cure and Interpol.
The song is about the ambiguity of digital love and the hidden mechanisms that draw us together through technology and vice. So we thought it would be interesting to take a more organic approach to a lyric video and invited some friends to make it happen. The priestess figure felt perfect to the idea of the “hidden mechanisms” and the sonic rituals that have always been a part of human culture. - VS
I am definitely digging the sound here, the masterful blend of moods and engaging vocal aesthetic that Violet Silhouette impart in their dark thought provoking sense of romance. Dip into the band's EP "SEMIPERMANENTDEREALIZATION".
