"I just wonder why, why I got no time..."
Step into the lush vibe, deep cut grooved psychedelia of "LSDSOUNDSYSTEM" by Sydney based psych rock project Bronte Public House and you will undoubtedly smile and move your body at the same time or maybe pick up a pencil to create your own percussive flow. The almost horror pop synths, lush bass line, thumping drum beat and hallucinogenic vocals floating in the air and asking questions, makes for a beautifully dreamy experience. When the music break happens, heaping on more percolating sounds and percussion, it is (at once) a hot house party or a huge festival with everyone moving to the beat. Your mind might go else where but mine went to an amalgam of MGMT, Talking Heads and Empire of the Sun. Love the cosmic vibe.

Sydney-based psych project Bronte Public House return with their new single, “Alive”.
Inspired by The Presets, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and Tame Impala, “Alive” pairs its musical exploration alongside a reflection on contemporary culture’s obsessive nature. Frontman, writer, and producer James Heathwood wrote “Alive” to question our infatuation with television, celebrities, and social media - a wake-up call to stay genuinely present.
Heathwood details the writing process: “Alive was written on a high energy day in a small studio in Tamarama. At the time lots of Bag Raiders gear had been left there, so it would be rude to not go a little crazy. I started with the live drums and had a few ideas, but it wasn’t until I picked up a guitar that had been left there by Kirin J Callanan that I started to really find the song. I played his crazy non branded little pink guitar through a screaming chimp amp and, without any pedals, it sounded like the most distorted weird piece of goodness I’ve ever played. A week later, I learned it was actually a $30 guitar Kirin bought online because you can connect it via Bluetooth! No wonder it sounded so distorted and crappy - I fully placebo-ed myself into thinking it was more like a special edition Kirin J custom model with inbuilt distortion.”
“Alive” is the first single off the upcoming debut EP from Bronte Public House, the newest must-see band out of Sydney.
