"turn your head back as you are floating away... look at the view, look at the view..."
"Frame Of Reference" by Athens, Greece based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Theodore is beyond grand. The percolating orchestration like massive rays of light, Theodore's awestruck vocal aesthetic and the eclipsing bending somber darkness expressed in sounds pushing uncomfortably against each other. The fanning dissonant shapes pushed by military drums and in repose feels like the pain and miracle of birth. But not the birth of a child, the birth of a universe maybe or celestial stars on another plane of existence. "Frame of Reference" is so big that it makes you feel small, like a tiny flea on the biggest dog ever or just one grain of sand in the Sahara. The track is the second single from Theodore's upcoming full length "The Voyage" due to drop on March 11th, 2022 via United We Fly.
Watching the Official Lyric Video for "Frame Of Reference" from the perspective of space and our place in the universe as a metaphor reveals the artist's reflections of the track and what informs it: "While writing the song, Theodore dreamed of looking back on how charmingly blue earth was, as he was floating away in outer space, inspiring him to write a song about how the things we don’t really appreciate in our daily lives can appear so beautiful from a distant point of view."
And it is so true, we sometimes don't realize what / who we have until they are out of our grasp.
