The S-ft F-cus and the eclipsing indie stoner rock of "This Divine Love"

"This Divine Love" by The S-ft F-cus, the solo project of Aussie bred / USA based indie rock veteran Danny Lee Allen, is a big indie rock affair with sideways sort of Black Francis-esque chord shapes and shoegaze hazey, big jangle pop sounds like a cross generational, cross Atlantic amalgam of My Bloody Valentine, The Go-Betweens and Husker Du (or something like that). Ultimately, "This Divine Love" from The S-ft F-cus's recent album "Lousy w' Love" sounds fresh and nostalgic at the same time and not all that easy to describe, better just to hear it. Danny's vocal aesthetic is appropriately cool and dodgy and the dynamic shifts pushed by captivatingly big drums and walls of guitars between open spaces has a beautiful stoner quality. The song is {About unrequited love. The kind that you can't let go of, even when it is destroying you. The first line says it all, "Do it 'till you don't know who you are"]
