"Waiting for a change / Can't seem to make / Any difference..."
Like finding an old weathered wooden crate full of old vinyl records and a box of old photos, the dreamy suncast "Flower Pots" by Waidhofen An Der Ybbs, Austria based songwriter / producer Danny Drivr, pokes at the memory parts of your brain. The combinations of vintage lo-fi textures, of psychedelic frameworks that run old school and more current, the intimate bedroom pop vocals, the bending fluttering notes that feel perched on a dissonant fence and the swelling church like dreaminess against live drums that feel perfectly recorded with only two mics, all creates a stirring illusory song, soundtrack for surreal stories.
"Everything's so strange
Are you awakeWhere are your friends
Childhood memories
So far away
Don't you miss it"
This song feels like it could be from an 60's Austrian film full of lost weekends in Spain, or maybe a current film about two people madly in love with each other but from afar only.
I don't know but I adore it.
"Flower Pots" is from Danny Drivr's latest full length "Sunny Side Up" that just dropped about 3 days ago. Danny shares "I'm a school bus driver and produce songs in my living room 🚌 "
