"I think I'm in love / probably just hungry / I think I'm your friend / probably just lonely..."
The artful punk squalor and electronic exuberance of "I Think I'm In Love", by Brooklyn based Two-Man Giant Squid, feels so exquisitely noisey and nostalgic that I wish I could bathe in it. Like a cross generational meat hammer smash of 70's raw punk romance (I thought of 'Roadrunner' by The Modern Lovers) and the iconic artful heaviness of bands like The Jesus Lizard and METZ. The subversive synth sounds and alt rock tribalism has true weight while oddly enough (or not oddly) feels equipped with true pop prowess. Does this make this ballsy song actually commercial, yeah I think so. AND I feel so.
Nothing wrong with being anthemic and if a song is not going to be super wordy I want it to be fucking loud.
