Project Diem and the illusory found footage of "Glow"

The illusory found footage of "Glow" by Brooklyn's Project Diem, and from their upcoming sophomore full length "Dead Pop" (dropping on August 22), while wrapped in contemporary shoegaze / dream pop atmospheres feels (maybe) inspired from a cross pollination of iconic sounds. Within the drone synths and grooves I feel sort of 70's R&B dance rhythms, within the airy romance waves I feel 80's alt indie leans of bands like Cocteau Twins, the 90's post punk is evident in the darkly sultry bass pushes and their are hints of early aughts Beach House sadness too. Mind you not in a copy-cat way but as lightning seeds, as hints and memoric washes highlighted by electronic static and ambient touchstones hence the 'found footage' reference. 

Whatever you want to call it, this five piece band hits all the right emotional chords leaving you wearing whatever patina this track leaves on you, the crush and loss of youth, tears from heartbreak or deeply longer for a chance at more. The lush sweeping sound is everything and especially love the vocal melodies as this tracks connective tissue.
