The undulating, glistening psychedelic groove of "Blue My Mind", by Virginia Beach psych rock outfit Berries, moves effortlessly through a kind of punk tropicalia vibe with ample indie pop rock shapes as well drawing in all comers. The vibe is cool and airy in some places and densely dreamy in other places. I have to say that besides the magnetic vocal performance / harmonies (that flow one minute and run and parkour the next) I am absolutely loving the proggy / funky base / drum dance. I guess the shiny layers of synths and ambient sounds is extra layers of frosting.
The lyrical metaphors seep into your brain provoking thoughts / memories / and maybe even some regrets.
