"a message that transcends time"
Ireland's Christian Cohle's pervasive and percussive track Breathe begins with a propulsive beat and at first some of the divergent (what sounds like) brushes on metal feel off and scattered, it is purposeful of course but the aesthetic to me made me think of micro matter, of particles, or molecules moving, dividing. The essence of life. It is a beautiful counter position to Cohle's angelic voice. As synths swell like an orchestra and the beat solidifies, Cohle sings,
"Breathe life into me, I'm broken, can't you see... I need your life... I need your life."
Around the dreaminess there is ambiance, laughing in the distance and what feels like entities racing by at light speed. A cool, dreamy, haunting bit of electro pop melancholia.
Cohle offers:
"Breathe" is about connection. The human need to be interlinked with something real and beautiful, and the struggles associated when that is unfound."

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Cohle first began writing songs when he was a teenager. After that initial discovery, it became a means of therapy. "I never really stopped. I began performing live at open mic nights and music venues at about 19 years old and then went on to study modern music in university."
After gaining some real life experience in recording studios, Cohle began taking interest in having creative control in both the recording and mixing process, which led him to begin producing himself. This was the catalyst for his new self-produced album and "Breathe" is the first single from the forthcoming project.
