Yael Naïm's amazing music video for her single Shine from her album "NightSongs" dropping March 20th as choreographed by renowned acrobat Yoann Bourgeois, shot by director of photography Martim Vian and directed by Naïm herself is a wondrous, poetic and, dare I say, well balanced piece of film making.
The song Shine is a haunting piece of music combining an almost classical folk tone filtered through art rock affectations and while the guitar notes that hang in the air like fingers barely clinging to a rock face, it is Naïm's exquisite emotional vocal aesthetic that anchors this song. From her first expelled breath of sound, you feel her emotional depth. You might feel a real chill skate across your skin or you may stop breathing for an instant. Her high register stands on those edges too, like the spartan guitar notes, just by threads. Just beautiful, absolutely.
Yael Naïm has that rare voice that doesn't lose her own being when she sings, instead her being shines.
