"long hair framed around your wide eyes / and a look forever going to haunt me..."
The sprite indie rock sparkles and bouncy storytelling of "You Scare Me" by Sydney Australia's The Stormy Sea floats on a blend of folk indie rock, jangle pop shapes with 90's emo and twee leanings too crafted in classic retro rock ways. I feel Polaroid stills of early 80's new wave and late 80's post punk too around the edges with seedling of 70's folk rock balladeers like a bend of artists like Al Stewart meets The Wedding Present meets The Sundays. Guitarist Blair McQuade's inviting vocal countenance book ended with Shelley Booth's enchanted voice draws you into the film they are making in your head.
LINER NOTES:
The Stormy Sea is rounded out with Ben Porteous on guitar and vox, Scott Brechin on bass and vox and Simone White on drums.
