"how many times a year did I see you /how many times a year did I call you back / if everything's fine, then I'll talk to you later / assuming that I'll still be here when you come back home..."
The swelling heart and happy / sad tears of "1995", by singer-songwriter Andrew Brethour, beautifully spins like a hypnotic wheel pulling you inside someone else's memories until you are not quite sure where your memories end and begin. Crafted with audio from home movies, plaintiff Church like piano shapes, dark chamber pop orchestrations, Brethour's hazy vox and a moving erupting indie rock outro that might make you float up toward the ceiling, at least in your head. The sensations of looking at one of those old photo albums with yellowed plastic and long gone relatives who feel like mysteries is strong here. The collision of heartbreak and also the loss of embracing kids or being embraced as kids with that kind of infinite familial love is both here holding hands.
"how many times a year did I see you
how many times a year did I call you back
if everything's fine, then I'll talk to you later
assuming that I'll still be here when you come back home
hey man, how are ya?
it's been a while since I've seen ya
let's bury the hatchet, if you wanna
stand in front of the camera
again"

I really dig this. The Official Video is very special too.
